We recommend using brief license agreements.

Similarly, we believe that there is no need to spend tens of hours or even close to one hundred hours for negotiating a license agreement between two or three parties.

Instead, we use a sequence of typical items to be discussed during our licensing negotiations.

We may even go as far as somewhat provocatively stating that “a license agreement is basically composed of a preamble, the minutes (protocol) of the negotiations and a severance clause.

In summary, it is the entrepreneurs and venture capitalists who should play the main part during financing/licensing negotiations, rather than their attorneys.
